What do these young people really want?

I am commenting on a recent article on the site Ανιχνεύσεις (“Η Νεολαία του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ ζητά να καταργηθεί η πρωινή προσευχή στα σχολεία“).

I first asked myself, what is more interesting, the question of prayer in school or the activity of Syriza youth. Apart from the fact that the title is completely misleading (!), Syriza youth seem to want morning prayer to be abolished in schools, but they actually ask for a lot more.

To be honest, they make pretty common sense demands, for instance a call to have health controls, to help more students with special abilities, to make school more creative.

However, these should all be demands of common sense and they should be taken for granted, not to be demanded as if they are  strange or unusual. I mean that we should not make a fuss about the documented requests.

The usual problem in this country is implementation. Other than that they make a call for some other things for which it would be more appropriate for a teacher to comment on because I am not sure if they have a valid argument for them. But really, nothing to make a big deal about, I am sure others have made such demands before, but logic has lost its way and we ask things that should be obvious.
