Thu 23rd May- Ondatropica- Colombian musician:Mario Galeano, and an English producer: Quantic, have joined forces to create the Ondatropica project.  This project endeavors to explore and expand the tropical sound of Colombia in its rawest form and to marry it with the modern sounds of London.  Location: Principal Club Theater, Gerogiou Andreou 56, at 9pm.

Sat 25th to Sun 26th May- Wine Festival Walk- The Thessaloniki International Walkers group has put together a weekend of walking and wine tasting in Goumenissa in parallel with the the Wine Festival. The walkers will explore the Goumenissa area as well as mount Paiko and taste some award winning wines.  Contact Liz at 6945305002 for more information.

Sun 26th May- Safari in the Forest of Pierias- Cycle Safari will be riding in the forest of Pierias.  They will follow a path overlooking the coast of Pieria and the journey will end in Pynda, by the sea, for a picnic and swim. The Cost is 25 Euros, and includes bus transportation to/from the start location, a picnic and the guide.  Bike rental is also available for 5 Euros.

Sat 25th May- Battle of the Year Balkans 2013- The Battle of the Year Balkans is back again in Thessaloniki with its annual break dancing competition.  AIRDIT, a member of TNT-Crew, one of the most successful dance groups, will be one of the judges and will perform a spectacular solo which he choreographed especially for this event. Come see which Balkan country will represent the region in the World Competition in Germany. Location- Principal Club Theater, Georgiou Andrea 56 at 7pm. Tickets are 15 Euro.

Wed 29th to Fri 31st May- EWG-DSS Thessaloniki 2013 Workshop- the EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems is hosting a workshop on “Exploring New Directions for Decisions in the Internet Age”.  It will focus predominantly on the advances of research in the field of Decision Sciences and will try to identify the key issues and challenges brought upon by the recent developments of Web 2.0 and 3.0.  Location: University of Macedonia, Egnatia 156.

Now to December- The Costakis Collection and the Russian Avant Garde- The State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki is celebrating the 100th birthday of Greek art collector George Costakis.  The Costakis Collection consists largely of Russian Avant Garde (1900-1930).  There will also be a special tribute to the collector.  Location State Museum of Contemporary Art, Kolokotroni 21, Stavroupoli. Open Tues-Sun 10am-6pm. Tickets are 3 Euro (1.5 euro for Students).

Sat 25th May- Festival of Cultures- A festival celebrating the art and music of immigrants in Greece. There will be a variety of performing and visual art events taking place in the area around the YMCA building. This year’s event will culminate with a concert by Yaran, Stingless, East and Amadeus Piccolo.  Location: Kipou Theater, across the YMCA building, at 9pm.
